Sybella arrives at the convent’s doorstep half mad with grief and despair. Those that serve Death are only too happy to offer her refuge—but at a price. The convent views Sybella, naturally skilled in the arts of both death and seduction, as one of their most dangerous weapons. But those assassin's skills are little comfort when the convent returns her to a life that nearly drove her mad. And while Sybella is a weapon of justice wrought by the god of Death himself, He must give her a reason to live. When she discovers an unexpected ally imprisoned in the dungeons, will a daughter of Death find something other than vengeance to live for?
I loved Sybella. Her story is not one you'd forget and I am currently trying to remember Ismae's story..I'll have to reread the first book. I hate the convent. Really? They are a bunch of asshole psycho's who need to jump off a cliff. Excuse my French but hey. Sybella's story had me wanting to cry. She's been through a lot of shi...crap.
She's also very badass. Very very bad ass. I loved when she and Beat were flirting. If that's what you would call it? Oh! I also loved how Mortain came and visited her. That was so sweet I nearly cried. No, I'm very serious. I really did nearly cry. It was so sweet. I was just like aawwww. That was most definitely a Kodak moment. Though it didn't exist back then.
