In Honor by Jessi Kirby

Happy Valentine's day yall! I only like this holiday because of the candy..I get from my parents of course. My mother and father have always been my valentines. But that is okay because I get much cooler gifts from them then I would from any boyfriend!

Okay this is the book I got as a Blind Date from the library I go to. I am not pleased with my date.

Goodreads Review:
Honor receives her brother’s last letter from Iraq three days after learning that he died, and opens it the day his fellow Marines lay the flag over his casket. Its contents are a complete shock: concert tickets to see Kyra Kelly, her favorite pop star and Finn’s celebrity crush. In his letter, he jokingly charged Honor with the task of telling Kyra Kelly that he was in love with her.

Grief-stricken and determined to grant Finn’s last request, she rushes to leave immediately. But she only gets as far as the driveway before running into Rusty, Finn’s best friend since third grade and his polar opposite. She hasn’t seen him in ages, thanks to a falling out between the two guys, but Rusty is much the same as Honor remembers him: arrogant, stubborn . . . and ruggedly good-looking. Neither one is what the other would ever look for in a road trip partner, but the two of them set off together, on a voyage that makes sense only because it doesn’t. Along the way, they find small and sometimes surprising ways to ease their shared loss and honor Finn--but when shocking truths are revealed at the end of the road, will either of them be able to cope with the consequences?

My stars: I give this book a 3..or a 2 and more than a half.

My review: Okay. I loved this book. It was a bit dull but I loved it anyway. It is nothing I would usually read and I'm glad I stepped out of comfort zone. The  $h!tt* ending was what downgraded this book all the way to a 2. I mean everything just happened so fast. And right at the end I begin to realize all the flaws of this book. And it irritated me. As soon as my father walked through the house door I was telling him about the book and how frustrated I was. Never been that frustrated, but I was. I said three on my stars because it evoked strong emotion in me. It actually got a response even if the response was anger. And irritation. So this book overall irritated the h3!! out of me. I wasted my Valentines day on this book...I will forever remember this.

In Honor  I like polka dots..but this models dress is ugly as I don't know what. If I were here I'd have refused to wear it.

Dr. Frankenstein's Daughters Suzanne Weyn

Goodreads review: A new generation is creating a monster....

Giselle and Ingrid are the twin daughters of Doctor Victor Frankenstein, but they are very different people, and when they inherit his castle in the Orkney Islands, Giselle dreams of holding parties and inviting society -- but Ingrid is fascinated by her father's forbidden experiments.

My stars: Ummm....3 or maybe a two..I'll go with three I think.

My review: Okay. So all jokes aside. This book confused me. The whole book was in first person point of view of course so it shouldn't have been confusing right? Well wrong. She kept switching from one twins diary to the other. I felt as if the character Giselle was very weak and stupid. And I do not like weak characters. I feel as if the author purposely made the beautiful and radiant one the stupid one on purpose. All because she was..popular or more uppity than her sister Ingrid. Giselle sounds beautiful and Ingrid sounds like someone who would work all day. So this book was typical. I wish I had gotten it from the library instead of having bought it...I hope there will be a second book to change my thoughts about the first because..ick. Just ick. I feel as if someone just stole my money. No offense to all of those who loved the book. Great! It was a nice book. Just to..I don't know but it wasn't for me.

Dr. Frankenstein's Daughters

Insatiable Meg Cabot

Goodreads Review: Sick of vampires? So is Meena Harper.

But her boss is making her write about them anyway, even though Meena doesn’t believe in them.

Not that Meena isn’t familiar with the supernatural. See, Meena Harper knows how you’re going to die (not that you’re going to believe her; no one ever does).

But not even Meena’s precognition can prepare her for what happens when she meets—then makes the mistake of falling in love with—Lucien Antonescu, a modern-day prince with a bit of a dark side . . . a dark side a lot of people, like an ancient society of vampire-hunters, would prefer to see him dead for.

The problem is, he already is dead. Maybe that’s why he’s the first guy Meena’s ever met that she could see herself having a future with. See, while Meena’s always been able to see everyone else’s future, she’s never been able look into her own.

And while Lucien seems like everything Meena has ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, he might turn out to be more like a nightmare.

Now might be a good time for Meena to start learning to predict her own future . . .

If she even has one.

My stars: 2...and a half.

My review: I have never not really liked a book. But to tell you the truth. I didn't really like this book. If you scroll through my reviews I pretty much like all the books I pick up. Everyone has a unique since of taste and writing...but this was just bleck..Meg Cabot is still one of  my favorite authors though. I hated how the main character was so..weak. Ya know. And then on top of that the book was good up until the middle. Thats why I gave it a two and a HALF. I don't know why she decided that Lucien was now the bad guy. After she purposely made Meena fall in love with him and such. I really liked him. He had a deep sadness within him that obviously Meena COULDN'T fix because she's a weak character. A coward really. She broke up with him because he turned into a dragon. Well he told her he could turn into a wolf so why not expect he could turn into other things? I mean that just got to me. You broke up with him because he turned into a dragon...AFTER your idiotic adult brother shot him when you told him not to. Huh..yeah. You can see exactly why I did not like this book. But I like the beginning up until the middle so..its a two. Wow...I feel kinda bad.
