Dreamland by Sarah Dessen

Goodreads Review- Ever since she started going out with Rogerson Biscoe, Caitlin seems to have fallen into a semiconscious dreamland where nothing is quite real. Rogerson is different from anyone Caitlin has ever known. He’s magnetic. He’s compelling. He’s dangerous. Being with him makes Caitlin forget about everything else–her missing sister, her withdrawn mother, her lackluster life. But what happens when being with Rogerson becomes a larger problem than being without him?

My stars- [4 (even though I didn’t like the main character)] 3

My opinion (Has Spoilers) Gahhh!!! What the H E double hockey sticks is wrong with this main character? Can somebody please enlighten me? This book was a very nice book which stopped me from giving it a two. The main character, Caitlin just irked my nerves. I can not believe she let him beat her!!! I mean I know her sisters left. I know her mother was a bit expecting. But seriously? You have:
  • A best friend
  • Parents
  • People who love you deeply
And yet you go out and let some dude beat you because you feel alone. WHEN WERE YOU EVER ALONE? You were nevvver alone. This is what pissed me so dearly. Roger…oh gawd. After that one time if he would’ve punched me? I would’ve been on the phone calling my father, because you KNOW how protective Dads are of their daughters, if they love them. This was just….urrrgh. For any of you out there getting beat…you’re not alone in it. If you don’t have any Family or Friends you still have God.

Goodreads Review- When self-proclaimed geek girl Bethany Reynolds becomes the newest member of the varsity cheerleading squad, she realizes that there’s one thing worse than blending into the lockers: getting noticed. Who knew cheerleading was so hard? Well, at least there’s a manual, The Prairie Stone High Varsity Cheerleading Guide. Too bad it doesn’t cover any of the really tough questions. Like, how do you maintain some semblance of dignity while wearing an insanely short skirt? What do you do when the head cheerleader spills her beer on you at your first in-crowd party? And how do you protect your best friend from the biggest player in the senior class? Bethany is going to need all her geek brainpower just to survive the season!
My stars- (3) 4
My opinion Okay! This was all a bunch of bull to me, first let me tell you good things. Hmmm..lets see. I loved the book. It was well written.  It had a nice plot and conflict. Most Authors don’t really have that now a days. Okay so now here are the negatives. How the H E double hockey sticks did she get her hands on a
cute hot BASKET BALL PLAYER? I mean I know he had problems and stuff..but seriously. Let us face these facts. Not everyone on a Cheer Leading team gets noticed. I mean I only know like 4 Cheerleaders names in my school! So how did the GEEK girl get noticed, no offense? Maybe if I got on the Cheer Leading team guys will start noticing me. The Nerd Chick. You know! The one who reads at lunch, who always raises her hand, and reminds the teacher we have homework. Yeah right! Everyone would probably shoot lasers at me with their eyes for all of those reasons. To tell you the truth. I just think us Nerds and Geeks have to keep it tight. When all the Jocks and Drama Queen’s are pregnant an broke we’ll be finding a cure to cancer.
